About the Creator
Desert Rose Daily was founded by Griffin Mbaye, a South African journalist and storyteller with over a decade of experience reporting across the continent. Born and raised in Cape Town, Griffin has covered elections in Ghana, interviewed entrepreneurs in Rwanda, and followed football legends from Senegal to South Africa. He started this site out of a simple frustration: too much African news was either fragmented, delayed, or filtered through foreign lenses. He wanted a platform that was African-owned, African-focused, and unapologetically authentic.
